Materials:
- about 30 plastic bags
- an iron
- wax paper
- a needle and thread (or a sewing machine)
how to make a bag from fused together plastic bags
- first you cut off the handles and the bottom edge of one of the plastic bags
- then, fold the plastic twice so there are 8 layers of plastic(for thinner or thicker plastic bags, you can adjust the amount of times you fold)
- sandwich the folded plastic bag between two layers of wax paper, and iron for about 30 seconds on each side.
- repeat process for all of the plastic bags
- place all of your pieces of fused plastic into a rectangle shape that is twice as long as you want the finished bag to be, with a little bit extra for a flap (optional)
- sew the rectangle together
- fold the rectangle in half (if you decided to make a flap, make one side longer than the other)
- sew up the sides
- turn the bag inside out
- take the handles that you cut off, and fuse them into a strap
- sew the strap on to your bag
- if your flap refuses to stay down, sew Velcro on.
That is the coolest bag in the world!

ReplyDeleteCan you bring it to school?
ReplyDeleteThat is very cool. What a great way to use plastic that would otherwise end up as landfill.
ReplyDeleteIt is really a very nice cool way of reusing such a waste. Reusing the plastic in such a aspect brings awareness and a feeling of great thoughts in the new generations. Such ideas must be encouraged and motivated.
